Hexham's Christmas Lights

Hexham Christmas Lights Display

This year and every year the Council celebrates Christmas in Hexham.

There is a very large Christmas tree, courtesy of Egger UK Ltd. erected in the Market Place.
Many of the trees in the Park are decorated with hundreds of lights.
Christmas lighting displays are erected on Beaumont Street and in the Market Place.
We arrange for Santa Claus and his helpers [who all like giving sweets away to children] to call in at Hexham so Santa can ask the children surrounding the Bandstand in the Park to tell him what they are hoping for on Christmas morning. Afterward Santa Claus asks every child to count down with him so that at 5.00 pm exactly, his magic enables the switch on of all the lights on the trees in the Park. Santa then goes on to the Market Place where he switches on the Christmas tree lights.

At Christmas too many of the local shops and businesses decorate their premises with illuminations so that Hexham twinkles its Christmas welcome to you all.

See you on Friday 26 November 2010 in the park at the bandstand at 4.30pm.
Switching on of the lights is at 5.00 pm - be there before then!
