MINUTES OF THE TOWN COUNCIL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 10 JULY 2006

 

 

180.PRESENT: Councillor J B Jonas, Deputy Town Mayor in the Chair together with Councillors B Pickering, the Town Mayor, M F C Donnelly, G C Ferguson, H J C Herron, D Kennedy, N Wicks and T Robson.

181.APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE were received from Cllr. Mrs C J Robinson.

182.MINUTES.  It was AGREED that the Minutes of the meeting held on 5 June 2006 having been circulated, be signed as a true record.

183.MATTERS ARISING.  There were no matters arising.

184.DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST. Cllr T Robson declared a personal interest in Agenda item 6 for applications 20060794 & 20060860 as a member of Hexham Community Partnership. Cllr D Kennedy declared a personal interest in Agenda item 6 for application NCC000114 as a member of Northumberland County Council.

185.PLANNING APPLICATIONS. It was AGREED planning applications in accordance with the lists circulated should be supported apart from:

a.       20060591. 45 Gilesgate. The windows should be double glazed but the application was supported.

b.      20060736 1 Battle Hill signage. It was AGREED to object. The colour scheme was too garish and any signage should be in traditional materials.

c.       20060840. Care home proposal at Maidens Walk. It was AGREED to object. The proposal was too large and will impact nearby residences. It will reduce affordable housing land availability and lastly there was no detail of external materials.

d.      20060835. Floodlighting at Priors Flat. Floodlighting should not be permitted after 9.30pm but the application was supported.

186.THERE being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting. The next meeting of the Planning Committee will be held on Monday 7 August 2006.
