How to get here

• 1. By Road
  • a. From Newcastle upon Tyne by dual carriageway A69
  • b. From Carlisle by single carriageway A69
  • c. From the south by A1M to Newcastle then A69 or try the scenic route from A1 past Scotch Corner then B6275/A68 to Riding Mill then A69 to Hexham
  • d. From East Scotland A68/A6079/A69
  • e. From west Scotland A74 to Longtown then A607/A69
• 2. By Rail
  • a. Tyne Valley Line from Newcastle every 30 minutes
  • b. Tyne Valley Line from Carlisle hourly
• 3. By bus
  • a. Arriva 685 from Newcastle and Carlisle hourly
  • b. Arriva 602 from Newcastle ½ hourly
  • c. There are bus connections from Hexham to Allendale valley and the North Tyne valley and of course in summer months to Hadrian’s Wall
• 4. By air
  • a. Newcastle airport with interconnecting flights to/from an increasing number of destinations is 25 minutes away by car or just over an hour by train to Newcastle Central and then the Metro
