Hexham’s Christmas Lights

Hexham Christmas Lights Gallery

This year and every year the Council celebrates Christmas in Hexham.

Grand switch on –November 15th at 5.30pm

There will be a very large Christmas tree, courtesy of Egger UK Ltd. erected in the Market Place.
Many of the trees in the Park will be decorated with hundreds of lights.
Christmas lighting displays are to be erected on Beaumont Street and in the Market Place.
We’re hoping to arrange for Santa Claus and his surprise guests (and his helpers) [who all like giving sweets away to children] to call in at Hexham so Santa can ask the children surrounding the Bandstand in the Park to tell him what they are hoping for on Christmas morning. Afterward Santa Claus will ask every child to count down with him so that at 5.30 pm exactly, his magic enables the switch on of all the lights on the trees in the Park. Santa will then go on to the Market Place where he’ll switch on the Christmas tree lights.

At Christmas too, many of the local shops and businesses decorate their premises with illuminations so that Hexham twinkles its Christmas welcome to you all.
