Hexham Town Council has been awarded the inaugural Newcastle and Northumberland Local Council of the Year Award for its performance in 2019.
This was announced recently and confirmed on 28 September at the Annual General Meeting of the Northumberland Association of Local Councils (NALC) in Bedlington. The award was presented at the meeting of the Full Council on 14 October. The Chair of NALC, Alex Waters, paid tribute to the tremendous work being carried out by Hexham Town Council.
Mayor of Hexham Bob Hull said “Hexham Town Council is delighted to be the first recipient of this Award. It recognises the tremendous work being carried out by Councillors and staff to ensure that the town continues to develop and maintain the range of services necessary for our wonderful town”.
