Work to upgrade the A69 Bridge End roundabout is about to move into phase 2. During the next twelve months the original roundabout will be closed to traffic with the newly constructed turnarounds being used instead to allow vehicles in and out of Hexham.
The turnarounds will come into operation as follows:
Eastern side – open from Sunday 5 July
Western side – open from Saturday 18 July
This means that there will be a period of about two weeks where the east side of the roundabout is closed and the west remains open.
During this time the pedestrian footpath on the East bridge will be closed with a diversion to the west via Hermitage overbridge.
