At the June Full Council meeting held on 14 June at The Prior’s Hall, Hexham Abbey, a motion put forward by Councillor John Ord was passed to agree to Hexham Town Council becoming an accredited Living Wage Employer and to encourage other employers in the town to do the same.
The Real Living Wage is currently a minimum hourly wage of £9.50 in the UK or £10.85 in London. More information on the Living Wage can be found on the Living Wage Foundation website.
