Beales department store has re-opened following its recent brief closure. Following a refit, it has re-opened in a new outlet format. The Post Office will remain in place.
Bob Hull, Mayor of Hexham has welcomed this development which reflects the recognition of the fact that the town has a future as an important retail centre for the area. Other new investments are coming to the town to reinforce its role as a wonderful place to live, work and visit. Beales have said it wants to be part of the long term plan for the site
Trevor Cessford county councillor for Hexham central and Acomb welcomed the very good news, especially about the post office. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to figure out the future of the site and this is a step in the right direction.
